1. Little made the observation last night that the logs in the fire look like (or, in her opinion, are definitely) fire poop. something to remember.
2. a few days ago i found this little scene in the doorway to the hall.
3. my dad made her a toybox for christmas. she plays "go to sleep" in it all day.
4. this game takes the place of actual sleep, which she's been doing less of since i started to wean her from the pacifier--her "sassy." today i gave in. it's a long story--3 days' worth--that ends with her in the fetal position, post-hysteria, falling to sleep the instant i give her the sassy. and me being a horrible human being.
5. she got her first haircut. (above picture is after the super-fine, snarly baby hair was trimmed off. now when we comb hair i am a slightly preferable version of my horrible self. that is, neither of us has to cry.)
note: all my pictures lately have been fuzzy, which i know is distracting. i think the smears were caused by Little "taking pictures" by pushing the on/off button repeatedly and hitting herself in the eye with the retractable lens. i just spit on it a little so we should be okay now.

i'm impressed and a little shocked there was no screaming and crying during the first haircut. i thought all kids did that. she's a brave little soldier.
i'm not even going to mention the red locks. oops.
As long as it's not Ally poop, I think you're way ahead of the game.
I don't think Daisy Spots cried or screamed at all during her first haircut. Lots of crying and screaming during combing, though. Before and after.
I am still in debate about the haircut, though Ally doing so well alleviates some of my worries. And the food for the stuffed animals: priceless.
I don't blame you a bit for giving into the sassy.
Me, neither.
Just as long as you don't let it deteriorate to this. Or this.
Because then you'll end up with this. And nobody wants that.
Being the magnanimous grandparents and trying to help with the sassy break, we surreptitiously snuck one of the few remaining sassies out in grandpa's tool box. You can thank us later. Darling pics! I actually miss being in that box myself.
She is so cute. She just looks like she has fun 24/7. Does her mom just sit there and think, what fun thing can we do next? all day long?
Hey Autumn still drinks from her bottle twice a day, and has the binkie in her mouth for the rest of the day. So I think your doin' fine just giving in once in a while!
w.v. erber- kid who was not cute enough to be a gerber baby
comment killer!
Daisy Spots used to "sleep" all day in the toybox you gave her for Christmas one year, SC. Now she's too big for it to even occur to her, I think.
that's a sweet memory for me to enjoy vicariously...thanks, RD!
jana, look - you were wrong.
If you're a bad mother that makes me a near murderer. Thank goodness Jamie can't remember all the potty training trauma we went through together. I may be responsible for shaking her brains into proper alignment or something and that's why she is so smart today. Love looking at the pictures of Little.
ally looks like a cerub with that cute. too cute.
Wow! Little's getting all grown up! Too cute! :D
Did you get the package?
Is your hair dresser Marisa Tomei?
