calling all aunties, uncles, cousins and sibs...
shawn and others have noticed that grandma and shan are working pretty hard at home to help grandpa. wapato seems so far away right now and i know that me and mine probably won't be able to visit until next summer's reunion. in the meantime, we can keep them encouraged by keeping their mailbox full.
let's write some letters!
if you'd like to participate, please sign up (in the comments section) for a day of the week. let's fill all the days before we start to double and triple up. wouldn't it be fun if they could look forward to at least one letter every day? i think it would be nice to include some memories we have for grandpa. pictures would be great too.
i'll take monday.

That picture of Ally is AMAZINGly cute.
Krista, you're the best! So much like your mom, you are. Thanks for doing this. I'll take Tuesday. I'm assuming this means I mail mine on Tuesdays, right?
P.S. I agree about the picture of great-grandaughter Ally!
I think that's right, Shawn -- mail your letter on the day you pick.
Fantastic, the B Halv's will take Wednesday
I would like to preface this post by saying, there have been myriad times in a multiplicity of settings that I have been proud that you are my friend.
Call me emotional, call me pre-menstrual (it would actually have to be post-menstrual, just for the record), call me what you will, but I choose to call you amazing. Thinking of you at this time has brought tears to my eyes and such a sense of gratitude to my heart. I don't know that I have ever felt as lucky as I do today, reading this post, to be counted as one of your friends.
Top 3 to the end. And yeah for seeing you in less than a month!
I'll do Thursdays! Great idea, SC :)
thank you, megamuffin! i love you too, you know--and the admiration goes both ways. what i said the other day about having you live in my neighborhood of favorite people someday...yeah, heaven.
btw, does this mean you're going to write to my grandparents too? ;-)
we've got saturdays! and best picture yet of little...
Who is megamuffin? Was that a response to my post or do you tell everyone you want them to live in your heavenly neighborhood?!
Anyway, I'd love to write to your G-rents. You let me know if you think it is going to be of help or a further hinderance. I've got my pen poised and my mind is already formulating a lengthy letter. I'll know if I should put my pent to paper if you actually send me their address!
who is megamuffin...that's funny. you know you're the only one.
All right Mrs. Rogers (won't you be my neighbor?), I'll take your word on it. Just know that you'll be in for a sound beating when I see you in less than a month!
Unless I'm mistaken, Friday is still open so I'll take it. Thank you Krista for taking this on and for the great idea. I talked to Mom Friday night and she sounded like her usual "up" self. Dad actually did, too. He had a little trouble getting some of his words out, but he sounded better than I had expected, after not having talked to them for over a month. He even asked me questions that told me he still remembers who I am. And he must have been having an exceptionally good day because he asked questions about Coy and Shawn and some of his grandkids, too. It's hard to fathom that Mom and Dad have missed out on all of this great communication via the blogosphere, so a letter a day will absolutely THRILL them!!
i'll double up with sc and take mondays, too. great idea, cuz. always thinkin of others, you are.
We'll take Saturdays. I just bought a bunch of fun stationary. I can't wait to use it. Thanks for this great idea.
Once again, my natural a-holery is countered by my wife's celestiosity. Saturdays it is.
Thank you so much everyone. Mom and Dad will be so happy!
